A screener like the Dissociative Experiences Scale takes ten minutes. It’s a flashlight, not a diagnosis. A real diagnosis comes from a structured interview (the SCID-D) with someone trained in it. Meanwhile: feet on the floor, cold water on your wrists, name five things you can see. And tell one safe person.
