Where does it come from?

Marsha Linehan’s biosocial model: a kid born with a fast, intense emotional system, raised somewhere those emotions got dismissed, punished, or ignored. Neither half does it alone. Trauma is common in BPD histories but not universal, which is part of why BPD isn’t just complex PTSD under another name.
