BPD
What helps?
DBT (dialectical behavior therapy) was built for it. In Linehan’s randomized trial, people in DBT were about half as likely to attempt suicide as those seeing expert community therapists. The core is skills rather than insight: tolerating distress, regulating emotion, asking for things without burning the bridge. MBT and schema therapy also have good evidence.
